Piazza Performances
Celebrate the season with a jolly lineup of live performances by local musicians, magicians, and cultural groups! All performances are free with Academy admission and take place in the Piazza at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on the dates listed below.

Saturday, November 30: Deutscher MusikVerein of San Francisco
Join in the holiday spirit with a festive performance by San Francisco’s German Band!
Sunday, December 1: Nā Lei Hulu I Ka Wēkiu - Keiki Hula
Kumu Julie Mau and the keiki dancers of Nā Lei Hulu share hula celebrating the Hawaiian culture.
Friday, December 20 & Tuesday, December 31: Kyle Foster Arts

Sunday, December 22: The Sewer Band
The Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District Non-Marching Band (affectionately known as “The Sewer Band”) was formed in 1957 and continues to perform throughout the year for its own enjoyment and that of Bay Area audiences. Tap dancers from Alameda's Dance/10 Performing Arts Center will keep you on your toes as they perform a fantastically festive version of "Happy Feet."

Hang loose with a Hawaiian-themed musical performance by Ukelele Friends Ohana.
Friday, January 3: Upwelling by Amelia
Upwelling is an ocean-inspired dance performance with a deep sea soundtrack. An original work by Amelia Nommensen and collaborators, this enchanting experience will leave your heart full of wonder.
Sunday, January 5: Cal VSA Lion Dance
The lion dance is an important tradition in Vietnamese and Chinese culture. Let UC-Berkeley's student-run Cal VSA Lion Dance team bring good luck and prosperity to you this season!
